Some Sustainable Milton members went on a little hike this morning to listen for birds and check out the plants growing by the trail at 15 Sideroad. These are my photographic impressions. Lots of interesting details when you look close.
Turkey Tail Fungus on a deadfall tree trunk.
A violet. (I guess they're not all purple!)
When Trilliums age they turn colour.
Imagine the grain pattern if this were cut into boards!
Little Brother. Seeing this stump, I imagine a little tree growing from between the roots of an older brother and eventually growing back into the main trunk to become one tree.
